Art Grade 9 - Museum Project [thanks to West Ferris for sharing]

Purpose: to deliver a class presentation on 1 museum. Groups of 4.

Library Requirements and Skills: 

• Derive information from the Museum's official home page using either a Curriculum Link or a suitable search engine [http://www.canada.com or http://www.google.com]
• Use one of the Student Services programs [available through your School Library Web site] [ie. Bridges, HRDC, Career Cruising, etc. Logins and passwords on the school web site.]

Presentation Requirements:

• attractive cover page
• Facts about the Museum, its location, size, founding date, operators of operation, admission, etc.
• The Museum's mandate [why it was founded and how that purpose has changed over time]
• Name and describe 5 careers the Museum staff might have
• Describe 3 famous collections that the museum houses.
• Each group member will select and present 1 artifact in the Museum's collection; include a picture, factual information [date, material, artist/maker, subject matter or purpose], personal appreciation.

Evaluation:

• Teacher evaluation of the oral presentation based upon factual information, organization, personal interpretation, oral presentation skills
• Self-evaluation of group work
